With the holidays upon us, we can decide where we choose to spend our money. We can support large corporations, or we can support people. While I know it may be impossible to buy all your gifts from small business, when you shop small each purchase makes a difference. Here are some of my favorite Small Businesses to shop:
Makers of exquisite and unique fingerprint jewelry. Many have tried to copy owners’ Brent and Jessica Williams’ style, but nothing compares to their attention to detail and and quality. I have my kids’ fingerprints on a pendant that means the absolute world to me. A few years ago, our family gave my mom a beautiful necklace with individual charms from each of her grandchildren.
Seriously hip t-shirts for kids and adults. Straight out of Milwaukee, owners Julie and Whitney are committed to responsible and ethical printing practices eco-friendly inks to create their amazing merchandise. I just ordered this beauty, and cannot wait for it to arrive. Their state seal Ts would make a great gift for that hard to buy for person.
Eco-friendly kid and mama products in the heart of De Pere, WI. This local store is owned by two moms, Kim and Stacy, who stock their shelves with amazing merchandise for your little ones, including amber teething necklace, cute and hip bibs, and even some tees from Orchard Street Apparel! They also fill their store with love and knowledge for all things natural parenting related. Both owners are experts on nursing, baby wearing, and clothing diapering.
Upscale and unique clothing for your little ones. The Puddle Duck’s website is under construction, but local folks can stop in this downtown De Pere location and check out the selection. Second generation owner, Kristy stocks her store with beautiful things. You can find something to put under the tree, or a fabulous holiday outfit for your kiddo.
Simply delicious caramel. In Cumberland, WI owner Chana’s caramels will straight up make you drool. She uses her grandma’s homemade caramel recipe to create her salted caramel shortbread that is just to die for. These hunks of caramel make great teacher gifts!
Natural beauty care items with addictive scents. Made with love and high quality ingredients right in the Midwest, these products are made in small batches by hand. So if you see something you love, snatch it up right away! One of Erica’s products cured my daughter’s awful chapped booty, and works great on eczema patches, too. With products as diverse as wax melts, face oil, conditioners, and all natural deodorants, there is really something for everyone.
